I’ll have to be honest and confess my liking to Kimbab. Um….okay, more like my incapability to make perfect Kimbab. But hey, I think I do pretty well with Nyonya dishes. So I guess that evens out the other half of my cultural gastronomy ability. I remember Kimbab came to our shore in the Korean Restaurants about a year ago. Way before that, Kimbab wasn’t really served in Korean Restaurants mainly because Kimbab is more commonly homemade dishes. And yes, I think I’ve mentioned this several times but the best Kimbab is my made by my Aunt Kim.
Since then, I’ve been pretty keen on Kimbab’s around town and there has been few pretty impressive while others hardly made it to my fondness. Here in Berjaya Times Square, I have tried one that is quite to my liking. Using simple and authentic Korean ingredients that is, this Kimbab has a rather mild and refreshing taste. Nothing too flavourful so one wouldn’t be sick of it by the time before he/she finishes the entire roll. Complementing the Kimbab roll is some soup with very little ingredient served to the bowl.
Next is some spicy fried rice cake which is definitely not the best I’ve had. Nonetheless, it was palatable. Even the set meal of stir fried beef and three sides weren’t too charming either. However, value for money is good as they weren’t expensive.
I haven’t been too fond of Berjaya Times Square since Juwin Stopped shoping with me. To actually hangout there with the constant traffic jam at any hour around the area would be quite an impossible task.
