Reminiscing childhood junk food when the ice cream man would come with the bell in his hand on a bike and children would run and follow Mr. Ice Cream man till it finally stops at one of the houses. That ice cream on tiny bun has always been my favourite. And I also recall that there aren’t many flavours then. There is the popular vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry and if fortunate, sometimes durian or corn as well. It is really difficult to find one nowadays so I adopted this picture from Chad , and also check out his comment on the Roti Ais Krim. It was hilarious.
Branded and made famous by the Japanese once again, Ice Cornet has brought back much memories and taken the crowd to complete madness with the sensational taste and experience of an impact of hot meeting cold.
Having done it in such smart and innovative manner, I must give credit to the Japanese who once again proven their delicate passion with very little things the culture of snack.
The cone bread is shaped somewhat so similar to a croissant but textured like any regular bread. the cone bread would first of all being deep fried in hot oil very quickly just to achieve the great crispy texture on the outside of the bread.
Deep frying the bread also gives a greater aroma of the bread and the bread is nicely cut on top, so when eating, becomes simpler.
Next, the cone would then be filled with this creamy soft ice cream or 98% premium fat free frozen yogurt ice cream of your choice. Now the ice cream is amazing and if I can honestly say this, the cone is quite huge for after meal dessert. I can hardly finish one all by myself.
One little thing I am a little particular would be the oil for those bread. Judging by the colour of the oil, I’d say it’s probably been use over and over and over and over and over and *inhales* over again. At the same time I thought the concept was brilliant for merchants, for those customers walk in and purchase and then walk out happily with their desired flavour. The shop doesn’t have to pay much attention to the layout of the seats and tables.
Nonetheless, I love the summer feel of the Hawaii beach design. Somewhat reminds me of Lilo and Stitch.

Saw this shop when I were at Pyramid. But din bother to try…as we were going for a dinner.
Don’t think I can finish it myself too…unless the bread is replaced with waffle :-p
I can’t finish one by myself…
Oh looks yummy! But I think I will give it a pass, cos can’t stand the unhealthy oil that is being used over and over again! Very bad for health! I think I will just make my own ice cream bread. Haha!
Oh ya…that is really horrible.
