Chinese cuisine is amazing when it comes to delicate effort. Like other cuisine, each cuisine often have their distinguishable element. For the Chinese, one couldn’t agree less with the wide use of pork as the main ingredient. Even breakfast, pork is probably an essential ingredient for Chinese dim sum. My love for dim sum might have arisen from the diverse choices of dim sum varieties.

Not to mention the many types of flavour and texture available. From the steaming dumplings, to fried cake and oven pastries, every bite can be different. At every dim sum restaurant, I like a taste of their porridge. So far, none has sufficed as the best. Having said that, the Rice roll (Chee cheong fun) did turned out to be rather tasty. Their steaming Char Siew Pau has got a great texture but the choices of meat used for their char siew filling don’t quite worked too well for me. It is not just the char siew filling that is overloaded with fats, the minced pork in most of their dumplings are also compulsively loaded with lots of fat meat. Good thing the there are many other choices of dim sum with fish paste.

My favourite Sticky Rice (Loh Mai Kai), isn’t the greatest. It was palatable, and great that they are fully cooked.

The shrimp dumpling has skin too thick it is hardly see through anymore. Since the shrimp is fresh, I supposed we can savour the freshness of the dumpling. If not, just order the fried dim sums. They are slightly better than the steamed dumplings. Mainly because most of it are of different ingredient.

Take note the fried stuff are a little oily. The rolled bean curd is really though in texture, not to mention it was really oily.

The prices are not entirely awesome but not too expensive and it ranges from about RM 3- RM 5, depending on what’s being ordered. The other good thing about this place is that air conditional dining is available so we can slowly enjoy the meal even under hot weather.

I had that too! about 2 weeks ago.
The fried lobak kuih was horrible, we couldn’t finish it. Porridge was ok, Siew Mai was ok. Ordered sweet and sour pork rib twice but still nowhere to be seen, so we paid the bill and ciao. Not a returning customer.

Love the porridge and the custard bun. I don’t normally order fried stuff though. The regular branch that we go to is in Kuchai Lama…the fried food is relatively acceptable in terms of oiliness…but its still not our choice. prefer the steamed items.
