Rak Somtam Menu
Obsessed with pork, I can never disagree to order the BBQ Pork Neck (RM 18.90) and the BBQ Pork Neck Skewers (RM 10.90) both of which is almost polished with the later being the spotlight with the more tender texture and certainly more flavourful when comparing to the first. The fats layering in between the meats were in fact the most hindering factor for me but I still enjoy them, thanks to the delish marinating.
A typical mainstream order at every Thai restaurant, their Tom yam really is pretty impressive with those spicy seafood soup not overpowered by fish sauce instead, fragrant and aromatically balanced with a light hint of lemon grass coming through. Loaded with big prawns and oyster mushrooms, this Red Tom Yam Seafood (RM 19.90) is perfect for sharing.
Being Asians, we need our rice but this time around the Pineapple Fried Rice (RM 15.90) was a disappointment following the unusual addition of waxed meat and the least pronounced fragrant and aroma of the pineapple.
And always wanting to have some vege in my meal, I asked for Spicy Glass Noodle Salad (RM 15.90). The mix of julienne vegetables gives it a nice crunch, while the mild chili kick married well with the sour tang. This one is lovely as starters and for sure is appetizing.
The beverages has nothing much to shout about but would be necessary and much needed for those with lower tolerance to spicy food. We had Thai Milk Tea (RM 4.50) and Lemongrass Water (RM 3), both of which reasoned fairly with the pricing.
There ample parking bay during night time makes dinner convincing, as opposed to lunch.
