From Melbourne to Malaysia, Breakfast thieves in APW Bangsar is more than just a space with breakfast offerings. They remained the most searched café on food directories with compulsory waiting time for a seat. But what they lack in bigger space and more tables indoor or the duplicate of identical breakfast plates and consistent brew of a good cuppa, they make up for in crazy quality and flavour and of course the very pretty looking meal.

They remain a popular place to grab all day breakfast and brunch. Diners gravitate towards charming space that is well litted with plenty of natural lights from their large glass panels where they dig into pretty and colourful serving of satisfying meal.

Though limited, the menu is both focused and thrilling, with new local flavours being introduced but starting with the hearty combination of breakfast goodness, the The Breakfast Chain (RM 27) is what I would recommend if you are going for a wholesome nutrition. It is a little challenging tapping around the sides of the egg to crack the shell beautiful enough to still look good on photo but hey, I think I nailed it. This makes a good dip for their cheddar soldier. With the strip of toasts, they are actually a good pair with those soft boiled egg dips.

Together with berry compote yogurt and granola, a pot of apple, strawberry, ginger almond crumble and side of soft- boiled eggs with cheddar soldiers, this one is superb if you like eating a lot of variety on a single serving plate.

Another protein pack brunch meal is the Gipsy King (RM 29). Thick cubes of crisp garlic rosemary polenta bars with beetroot and citrus cured salmon trout cauliflower and parmesam puree, roasted oyster mushroom charred onion and the beautifully poached eggs. Lookout for that custardy flow of velvet yolk-they are the best.

And speaking of yolk, seek Mr. Terry Benedict (RM 29). The poached eggs are topped with yuzu hollandaise sauce. Along with 24 hours braised beef cheeks in green peppercorn with smoked paprika charred cauliflower, this toast is satisfyingly filling.

If there are still some space after that hefty portion, go for dessert-cum-main as a closure to this lovely meal. My French Lady (RM 26) should be a sharing meal if it’s a dessert but as a main, it would be fantastic to go with a cup of black coffee. This French toast is served with perfume strawberry and thyme, 55% salted dark chocolate soil, lemon curd, raspberry cream and mixed sesame shards.
