Quirky and unusual cafes – there’s plenty in Klang Valley. But one that changes their featured theme every single month, Alpacasso café in Midvalley is the first. Yup, every month is a new cartoon character and we are not talking about just the décor and the interior, we are talking about the food as well. Sure, they may not be the ones that serve the best dishes in town, but for a meal with a difference, these super cute and adorable meals didn’t let me down.
It was not solid cuisine but it was a good café with very attentive service. The space itself was underwhelming; it was not nearly as detailed as most standalone boutique themed café, but still a nice little corner-café with nods to the character. Not to mention their character meals are beyond adorable. The variety is excellent, with everything from light meals to healthier ones as well as creative beverages that’s equally as cute. Garden Fresh Smoothie (RM 17.80) nailed it with fresh spinach, apple, banana blended with apple juice, coconut water, and honey. I always love cafes with something healthy and clean but if quirky is what you seek, check out their Cotton Candy Alpacassoda (RM 14.80). This ridiculous drink is so ridiculously cute it shows us how the cute cotton ball magically disappears into the refreshing soda but why on earth would I want to destroy something as adorable as this? Alas, it happened and I watch the fluff cloud shrink and disappear in seconds, leaving an edible pair of eyes. Sob. Fresh brews of coffee drinks are on the menu as well. Alpacasso latte (RM 14.80) maybe a little overpriced but you get a cute alpaca smiling at you to perk up your day.
Food is creative and kids friendly. Garden Green Salad (RM 19.80) serves a healthy platter of fresh greens with lovely dressings. Fluffy Alpacassa Pancakes (RM 25.80) stake up some pancakes with fresh fruits to satisfy the sweet craving, while the Alpacasso Curry Island (RM 26.80) is the savory delight of delicious Japanese curry rice with some greens and a cute Alpacasso face. Also starring at you is the White Alpacasso Burger (RM 28.80 for chicken patty and RM 29.80 for beef patty) with patty coated in teriyaki sauce and potato wedges to accompany.
Considering that the café opens as per mall operating hours, this is a great spot to hit at any time when shopping in the mall. Don’t forget to check out their merchandises, they are irresistibly cute and to die for. Or, get your mug for free when you order the Potted Cheesecake (RM 22.80).
