Malaysia’s great with multicultural festive and they are best celebrated with traditional culinary. Silka Hotel at Cheras is all prep up for the joyous celebration of Chinese New Year. Yee Sang (RM 48 half portion and RM 88 full portion serving) is always the perfect way to kick start the festive mood as we gather to indulge in a culinary heritage made up of a complete full course meal of auspicious and prosperity significance to usher abundance of good fortune and wealth. Putting all the right crackling and crunch, as well as refreshing juliennes and shreds of freshness, the lou sang is more than just for tossing for good luck. It is also appetizing and perfect just ot get the saliva gland working for the starter Hot and Cold Combination of 4 types.
(Special thanks to Ruth of perutbesi.com for this photo. Yours truly arrived just on time for the toss)
And moving on to warm up the stomach with some gorgeous gooey of savoury comfort, this Roar of the Dragon package is serving Braised Dried Scallop, Crabmeat and Seafood Soup. Replacing the posh choice of sharks fin, most of the consumers have come a long way through evolvement from making shark fin a compulsory starter soup when it comes to a full luxurious Chinese meal.
With us ushering the year of Rooster, their Chef totally nailed their Double Boiled herbal Chicken with a potent use of all the beneficial goodness of traditional Chinese herbals. Things like red dates, goji berry, a whole lot of roots and rhizomes that nourishes on top of the robust flavours to the otherwise bland chicken. This one was a pleasant to consume with the chicken cooked to perfect softness to fall off the bone with very minimum effort. And at a traditional Chinese banquet dinner for the Lunar New Year, fresh seafood completes the meal with prosperous significance. Steamed Red Snapper with Light Superior Soya Sauce is one of the reason why the the package is available only with a booking of 3 days in advance. The flakes are solid and sweet, so fresh it would do great without the sweetness from the sauce. At the same time, Baked Tiger Prawns with Oats takes the taste buds on an explosive journey with the aroma from the oats and the fresh sweetness from the tiger prawns.
The meal package is inclusive of the Braised Lo Hon Chai with Broccoli and Fragrant Fried Rice with XO Sauce. Many of us love the spike of slight spicy in from the XO sauce fried rice. On top of the decent wok hei in the dish, this one pairs really well with the broccoli.
Lastly, the meal should always end sweet for good luck as we celebrate the Lunar New Year. Ushering into the new year with plenty of sweetness, this pair of sweet delight were beautifully done with the Double Boiled Lotus Seed, Lily Bulb with White Fungus served hot and the decadent Chinese Pancake and Mochi beautifully plated to put a smile on everyone.
Also check out the Rising Phoenix package and take note this Lunar new Year Culinary Delight is available from 14th January – 11 Feb 2017 for both lunch and dinner (12pm-2:30pm, and 6:30pm- 10:30 pm). and this offerings are only available in Silka Cheras.
