Pim’s &the Rama at Aman Suria Damansara
Talk about a pure satisfaction of tomyam and thai fare: Pim’s &the Rama at Aman Suria must be the one that comes into mind when it comes to mixes tongue-basting Thai soup in a Korean hot pot lookalike serving. Unlike conventional Thai restaurants, their first operating outlet in Klang was already renewed in such that the interior of the place catching on to trendy designs. This second outlet has wowed neighbourhood patrons with both it’s ingenuity, authenticity (think Thai staple with Chang Beers) and a good value of money. Oh did I mentioned the live acoustic music on Fridays and Saturdays?
As is the case in many of Klang Valley’s most authentic Thai restaurants, the cooking here is largely from the region of northern Thailand – including salad, accompanied by anything of pork. The food menu features plenty of well-known Thai dishes, with Green Curry Chicken (RM 28) alongside Thai Papaya Salad (RM 18), Pad Thai Noodles Prawn (RM 16.50) and juicy Pork dishes- Thai Grilled Pork Neck (RM 19), BBQ Pork Sticks – 3pcs (RM 12), Spicy Hot-Basil Leaf Minced Pork Rice with Fried Egg (RM 14.90) and Thai Pork Leg on Rice (RM 15.90).
You’ll also find a collection of southern Thai dishes such Thai Otah Otah Seafood (RM 25.50). Fish dishes are available as well. Fresh Siakiap Seamed with Chili & Lime Soup (RM 66) and Fresh Boneless Deepfried Siakiap Fish with Thai Sweet & Sour Sauce (RM 68). All very lovely to go with white rice.
The menu carries a long list of Thai dishes but something else is brimming with innovative confidence. Unashamedly fusing hotpot and Thai with the likes of fresh seafood and thick tomyam soup and lining the surface of the pot with crayfish, prawns, scallops, squids, mussels and some mushroom; and then topped with boiled egg with that runny and custardy yolk, Pim’s Super Seafood Tom Yum Pot (RM 88) reminds me of the Korean army hot pot. And, this one is sensational with icy cold beer.
If not this huge seafood tomyum pot? Then go for the popular pink soup. Yen Ta Fo (RM 39) represent hot pot with fishballs and tofu pieces and is another dish perfect for anyone who loves hot pot.
