There is a lot of Malaysian and Southeast Asian on the menu, joining plenty of pub grub fav so essentially, it is a place you’d find familiar ingredients but be ready to be surprised.
Flaunting modernity fused with traditional culinary and sophistication from the flavours of heritage, Knowhere is one of the best meeting places for stylish cocktails and western inspired gourmet bar bites made with local ingredients for the taste of familiarity.
The bar and tables tied together with the mood lighting and music, creates incomparable ambiance. Head in after work for exclusive drinks and some delicious bites. Mains come as solo portions or sharing plates, if that’s more your scene, with all sorts of pastas and pizzas to try. Vegans will find slightly a more interesting and tasty options; I was more than happy to head straight for the Ulam pesto. Before drawing to the jackfruit pizza. In hope for a softer texture from the jackfruit, this bedazzled me with the choice of decision to keeping the fruit rather crispy on the pizza. I love it! The sweet and thick juicy bite of the jackfruit texture to go with the soft of cheese and tomato was surprisingly very delicious to my liking. And putting this side by side on a half and half affair with the Italian mutton kari, is a great way to share a pizza with two flavour.

Have their in-house mixologist whip up any cocktail, with a menu to impressed even the most jaded of palettes. I would not be able to include the must try list, but we had three curations with one in particular that derives from thematic colour, a concoction that’s also great for the gram. The cocktail selection is varied, locally focused and brilliant. That one in particular that I stumbled across by coincidence because I asked for something in blue, was exceptionally interesting. Invigorating the senses and tantalises the taste buds from the tang and sweet acidic, it was easy to drink. The remaining drinks were off bolder flavour of full bodied, it can be a different pace of indulgence. There is truly a drop for everyone at this lively east-meets-west establishment.
Pairing your cocktail with some intense and robust Sambal mussels was quite an experience. Mussels itself are incredibly versatile. The flavour that comes out is amazing—sweet, like little lobsters. But when cooking it with sambal and matching the drinks and sambal flavours worked wonderful.
And if you asked me about wine to go with this, it is naturally simply Riesling or Chardonnay-anything that’s tangy and vivid, these wines retains more than enough acidity to cut the sweetness. But to pair this with combination of flavour in cocktails, is a whole new study of complementing contrasts and I’ll have to confess the whole cocktail pairing is still of a wide range of study so I personally find this intriguing. If you are unsure of the choices of cocktails, ask for recommendations and tell the mixologist your preference of flavour profile.
