South Australia Gourmet Fair in Malaysia
Be it groceries or fresh produces, Australia has been worldwide recognised as top producers when it comes to quality. There is a spike of demand when it comes to Australian fare and the increase of farm exports are evidences to put the country as one of world class. Some might have heard this before, even pho is Australia is supposedly claimed to be so much tastier than pho in its country of origin, Vietnam. And the secret (or not) might be the beef used in cooking the dish. Decades ago, Australian ingredients and culinary were considered lacklustre by some industry players but that totally changed as time progresses with savvy culinary entrepreneurs and producers stepping up to raising the bar to met world class standards. And this is not solely achievable with just that but also the attribution of several other factors like the fact that weather and soil. This ideal and fabulous natural environment enhances innovation to produce high quality foods.
Travel is not yet allowed at this point but the South Australia Gourmet Fair did bring the quality foods to us here in Malaysia. Organised by the South Australian Government and supported by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission and the Australian High Commission in Malaysia, this is part of the government’s programme for food and beverage products to enter the Malaysian market. And being on board with their influencer’s engagement, I did some content for Instagram and personally tried out some products of the participating brands. These brands are new faces in Malaysia and I am personally fan of preserved 100% Australian fruit from Peel & Tonic, handmade pasta sauces from Lucia’s Fine Foods, and those divine raw honeys from Buzz Honey. I love preserved fruits and I think this are one of the best I’ve had.
Gelista’s dairy free ice cream lets me binge on it without guilt feeling and I especially love the premium tomatoes by P’Petual. If I need to treat myself, I think I’ll feel so much better knowing that I am eating quality food that’s beneficial and super tasty at the same time.

Also watch other quick recipes I made with these Australia products. I must say, they are delicious it’s making me feeling so clever and stupid at the same time. To think why are we eating food packed in can and jars when we can make them from scratch? Versus why should one be making things from scratch when the convenient one is saving so much time and tasting so delicious at the same time? Does anyone have the same contemplation?
