Mbuji @ IOI mall

 

The expended IOI mall is quite a pleasant place to hang out once in a while when you are almost sick of bigger malls like the One Utama, or Mid valley. IOI mall is a very family oriented mall, really suitable for family hangouts. It doesn’t have too much high status and branded name merchants in the mall so there won’t be much to shop if you are very brand conscious. On the other hand, this place made a good place for family because it has almost every other essential from electrical appliances, to household and grocery, some clothes, shoes and my favourite, food. I was enjoying some free movie tickets at the new GSC cinema in IOI and decided to have some tea and light snacks before the movie starts. Stumbling across the Mbuji café, it seemed pretty empty so I supposed not having to wait too long for my bites. I also enjoy the décor very much.

 

 

The choices of beans are numerous, so I presume coffee lovers would find this a nice place to hang out.

 

 

But as always, I prefer tea over coffee. So I have my usual Jasmine Green Tea at RM 3.60 which I thought is rather reasonable.

 

 

As for the light bites, I shared Quesadillas with my sister and myself, I had the Cream of Mushroom. For RM 11.90, we had the tortilla folds grilled to perfection with chopped tomatoes, onions, coriander leaf, cheese and BBQ chicken in it. The fold is served with dipping sauce and some fresh celery and carrot sticks. My soup cost RM 7.90 and this thick and creamy mushroom soup topped with croutons could so much better if they go easy with the salt.

 

 

This place made a good tea time location for causal hang outs and catch ups with family and friends. Not forgetting how children would spend some time going around the place looking at those lovely displays.
