Stacking is no longer just a thing for sushi over the conveyor belt. The new wave of stacking around town is at the Boat Noodle. Notorious for their long waiting hours, the boat noodle in empire sells a simple one page menu with only four main dishes; noodles with beef or chicken, dry or in soup.
Each bowl comes in portion slurp up in one or two, at most three bites. There is a reason why these bowls are served in such tiny portions. I’m Thailand, boat noodles are consumed on boats hence the name, so smaller portions made it simple.
Ordering isn’t much a hassle, a slip of order paper to be filled and hand over to the servicing crew. In no time, bowls of noodles started serving and that’s when the stacking craze begins.
I have to give in credit to their dedication and precision, each chicken bowl has one chicken ball and the beef comes with half beef ball. Each dry noodle serves with this tiny wedge of lime for that extra zest while coriander certainly gave the perfect aroma.
Rice noodle are very smooth and velvet but it’s nothing too fantastic and certainly over rated with nothing too great to shout about except for the stacking trend being the latest wave.
The beverages were nothing too impressive with only selective few of canned drinks and dessert certainly isn’t too extravagant too. Traditional Thai Pandan Dessert (RM 1) comes in pair and. Served in tiny saucer plates. This Thai style pudding akin is great and very easily comparable to local flavour, thanks to the coconut in it.
The outlet is not too big, with perpetual flow of customers dining in as well as continuous stacking (and photographing) of the bowls.
