The auspicious celebration to kick start the lunar new year always includes indulgences in food with symbolic and classic dishes that is believe to be a good omen for the brand new year. This Chinese New Year, Armada Hotel Petaling Jaya joins in the festive mode with a lineup of some decent selection from the culinary team, headed by Chef Chew. Featuring an array of ‘good luck’ dishes for buffet on18 February 2015 at the Chinese New Year Reunion Buffet Dinner, they present renown customary dishes such as Chinese New Year Wax Rice, Chee Pau Kai (Paper Wrapped Chicken), Stir Fried Butter Prawns with Coconut Flakes, Herbal Roasted Duck, Hot Pot Treasures (Poon Choy) and many more. Chinese New Year Reunion Buffet Dinner is priced at RM78+ per adult, RM55+ for senior citizens and RM39+ per child.
Tossing into the brand new year, the Lou Sang is that fun starter you wouldn’t want to miss. Tantalising sauce along with the mix of assorted texture from the crackers and julienne vegetables and fruits to go with slices of raw salmon slices, is the great start to a better year; and better yet, the perfect start for this CNY course line up.
There is the exciting Yee Sang Selections, such as; Fruity Veggie Yee Sang (vegetarian), Salmon Yee Sang, Butterfish Yee Sang or Hokkaido Scallops Yee Sang. Priced from RM65+ per portion.
And for guests who wish to indulge in exclusive set menus, from 19th January till 5th March 2015, Chef Chiew and his team has whipped up four spectacular Prosperity Set Menus (minimum table of 10 pax) ideal for family, friends or business.
The Sharks fin soup is in traditional culture, served as a symbol of wealth and while some strongly oppose this ingredient, it is inevitable the need to meet this demand. Other harvests from sea are equally as good as substitution since what you’ll also see in the lineup is some good fresh catch.
Steamed sea bass with ginger sauce serves a plump catch swimming in thick starchy ginger sauce. Ginger was lusciously providing a lot of flavor to the fish.
Chinese herbal chicken showcase this barn harvest soaking in herb gravy that could use a little more infusion of flavour. Having said that, the chicken was tender and a addition to the meal. Especially when pairing it with the next dish; the wholesome Fried Mixed Vegetables with Fatt Choy.
Of course the CNY courses must not be short of prawns. This fresh batch of Fried Prawn with Salted Eggs and Butter Flakes was delectably crunchy. And despite the mellow fragrance from the lotus leaf, matching the prawns with their very own Chinese New Year Lotus Rice seems right and compatible.
Finally, the sweet finishing into the brand new year; get dulcified with their lovely Red Bean Cream, along with Steamed Ninko and Chinese New Year Pancake.
Reunion set dinner is available at Rm 978++, Rm 1088++, Rm 1198++ and Rm 1308++
