Settled with lots of natural light penetrating through the glass panel at this corner lot, Bedrock Cafe at Usj Taipan is that promising stop with innovative recipes that would classically mesmerise visitors. If you gran one of the spacious, picture-window booths you can watch the hustle bustle at this business enclave well known for its challenges when it comes to getting a legal parking bay.

Specializing in meals instead of coffee, with bias towards western classics (of course) plus a touch of their passion in everything they serve, thus making this Latte very much enjoyable despite not being their forte when it comes to coffee.

And to all the egg lovers, behold! Baked Eggs (RM 16) served with in house baked bread slice was a charm. Baked eggs for brunch traditionalist usually come with cast iron skillet served directly from out of the oven but Bedrock does it on the stove with lid for shorter cooking time.

Tuning to suit the majority, don’t expect very authentic and al Dante pasta. Instead, a strong representation of local palate hit the spot with its luscious taste. Primavera(RM 15) served in linguine pasta is one of the best around this area, with the right ratio of every bit of sauce, pasta, cheese and portion making savouring this to be a very memorable one.

Looking out for protein source, dig in to the Salted Roast Chicken with Mashed Potato (RM 18) served as a quarter chicken with superb moist and tender texture plus a crisp roasted skin. Cut into the pink brined chicken and balance that with the clever companion of mashed potato although it would be wiser to have some green leaves by the side.

Being raised in Asian country, most of us would have that monstrous need every now and that for rice so fret not. Bedrock’s very own version of Kedgeree (RM 12) served beautifully with hardboiled egg and a wedge of lemon to counter the hefty spices for that bold flavour in the rice. And with some raisin for that hint of sweet tang, rice lover surely would favour this dish.

Desserts should be getting some extra credit especially when their ice creams are homemade. Peanut Butter and Jam French Toast (RM16) and Pancake (RM 12) served with very lovely drizzle of chocolate on top of the generous scoop of ice cream and banana slice.
