Think SS15 and all that came into mind is those horrible congestion, the colleges, students, and it’s latest bloom; cafes. Brew Yard at SS 15 Subang Jaya established itself alongside the long cafe lists. Settled with bulbs and woods, their simple decor provides comfortable lounging space to their primary targeted crowd; students and fellow cafe hoppers.
Focusing on their brews, food is simple with a light spread of pastas and wraps. And the food menu seemed decent during my visit. Latte (RM 11) isn’t my cuppa but for those who appreciates their house blend of 4 different kinds, you’d like the serious brew of caffeine beverages. If not, simple Ice Lemon Tea would be the perfect thirst quencher on a hot day.
Impressed by the Creamy Chicken Pasta, it has the lovely texture and tasty sauce that was really pleasant. Portion was good for the ladies, great for lunch. Sides weren’t too expensive but since they offer lunch deals at RM 13 for a main and a drink, it made the Mashed Potato (RM 7) looking slightly pricy. But good news is, real potato instead of those instant mixes to yield this heartwarming mashed.
Something light and clean on the menu is always a plus point but what’s equally as important, is to make sure they are as charming as the rest. Smoked Salmon Waldorf (RM 18) were almost there if it wasn’t for the wet salad leaf beneath. I have only one word for this; soggy. So you’d better polished them with lightning speed.
Apparently taking pride at their house waffle, BY Waffle (RM 16) serves with thin slices of banana and strawberry garnishing(I mean it when I said thin), a sprinkle of mix nuts, spreaf of peanut butter jam, two big scoop of ice cream and topped with a piece of oreo cookies and cream sandwiched biscuit. Texture wasn’t impressive at all but suffices for the sugar rush to those who cannot resist sweet desserts.
Despite the not-too-friendly service at my visit, I think Brew Yard would still draw their regulars and the younger crowd with their decent food along with the comfortable dining atmosphere.

Nice texture on the mashed potatoes. Everything looks appealing and if it taste just as good as it looks, it’s definitely a steal for that price.
The latte looks well made and what a cute little alleyway for seating.
