Staying close to the root of Malaysian flavour, the Kluang Rail Canteen has brought the scents and flavours of the south to klang valley’s Sunway Nexis, and is the absolute right place to sample culture and tradition through history of culinary within the family’s specialties and home recipe passed from generations to generations.
Rail Canteen here is a welcome addition to the quiet and relatively new complex and dishes are cooked with a nod to authenticity with a reasonable selling price. The space is comfortable if not relaxing with a semi open bar prepping orders for drinks.
Popular to have earned a status within people of Kluang, this local coffee gets the same approval from all at the dining table that night. Kopi Ais(RM 3.80), Kopi Cendol Ais (RM 4.90),Teh Ais (RM 3.80), Three Layer Ice Cream (RM 9.80) and even their fruit juices were all amazing (especially when real fruits are generously made into glasses of thirst quenchers).
Those iced beverages are critical for some of their dishes. Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah (RM 12.60), and Rendang Kambing (RM 9) were both rich and packed with local flavours we can all easily get used to. This Malaysian breakfast champions are offered in their rendition to assure a satisfaction guaranteed when it comes to serving size. Fragrant coconut rice surrounded by lovely boiled egg and cucumber, plus the crunchy fried ikan bilis with the signature spicy sambal (there are 4 options-cockles, onion, sotong, and prawn) and all tied together with a fried chicken horded with spices. (Also available to pair the nasi lemak is ayam goreng masak merah, ayam rendang, and ayam goreng.) Otherwise, have the nasi lemak in plain (RM 6.50) and pair with lovely lamb cubes.
Fan of noodles can enjoy the Mee Hoon Siam (RM 6.50) and Mee Kari (RM 11.50), both packed with aromatic flavours from the herbs and spices. Whilst the curry gravy being slightly briny to me, the classic dish has at the same time earned some hardcore fan of theirs with the generosity of the portion.
Being an enduring family favourite among locals with their classic recipes, there will be selections for the younger crowd to accommodate modern demands. Hainanese Chicken Chop (RM 16.90) also win fans alongside the innovative Kopi Cheesecake (RM 9.80).

I’ll have their Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah here. That is awesome. Or maybe their Mee Siam too. The rest are just okay okay for me.
Same. But just the nasi lemak. I like our Melaka mee siam more.
