For the ultimate garden to table experience, Green Tomato Café at Persiaran Ritchie is exactly where you get to get close to tons of serenity in plenty of greens in their organic vegetable and herb garden, and learn about the ingredients and hands on to prepping our local delight- the nasi lemak. Pairing almost close to perfect with nasi lemak is Malaysian’s very own teh tarik and this cultural and culinary interactive experience to make this combo out of scratch is an absolute fun that’s at the same time therapeutically relaxing.
The place is maintained with beautiful surrounding of plants, with cosy hubs for all the workshops you can think of. That obviously makes this place ideal and fantastic for team building and holiday or casual group bonding session. If you are keen to learn how to cook a nice plate of nasi lemak, Green Tomato Café here is a good starting point. Whether you are a food enthusiast or simply needing to search for something different to spice up the mundane lifestyle, this place has everything that is needed at disposal and that includes innovative batik drawings at your finger tips. But here we are today to focus mainly on their cooking workshop. Ingredients and recipe provided with easy going instructor for that casual and entertaining learning experience. I had fabulous time cooking with Clever Munkey . Watch it on my snap stories HERE .
By the end of the workshop, you’ll fall in love with this simple and comforting delight.
While we are there at the café, be sure to sit back and relax over a cuppa joe as. Having a café within the proximity, can be really convenient when and if you are participating in their workshops. Or, simply head over for lovely brunch even if you are not participating in their workshop. Brunch is not quite it without eggs Benedict. Like others, the Benes here is drench in hollandaise sauce that releases that smoky custardy flavour when the yolk breaks away. Served with some fresh greens at the side with some roasted potatoes and the egg bens are served on top of ham and their grain slices.
During the visit, pizza workshop for juniors are also ongoing. I tried some of the pizza by this little chef here and it was really not too bad.
If it weren’t for the tranquility, brunch alone wouldn’t suffice to attract me. The workshops on the other hand, are absolute fun and delightful. Refer to their website for all the available workshops.
