The fasting month begins end of June this year and this time of the year is where foodies get tempt to indulge with traditional dishes usually enjoyed during the buka puasa session. Temptations at Renaissance did quite a good job putting up fantastic array of varieties ranging from rice to noodles and all dishes from sweet to savoury. Starting with the assorted pastry and appetisers.
Rice selections showcases typical Asian specialities with choices like nasi minyak, nasi kerabu, nasi bryani, and my all time favourite, nasi tomato. From nasi goreng to nasi bukhari, along with an array of “gulai” and the daily Roasted Whole Lamb with percik sauce, diners would not even know where to begin.
Following that is the hot selections of local flavours including Daging Tulang Rawan Rendang Pedas, Kampung Style Ikan Bakar, Satay along with incredible sauces and many more. Also included in the buffet are the Chinese and Indian dishes along with fusion western delights. Dishes like the Chicken Malai Tikka, Sauteed Broccoli and Cauliflower with Cream as well as the Jeera Aloo (Potatoes Spiced) certainly whipped the palate.
While the life kitchen shows off incredible varieties of noodles, grilled seafood and fresh seafood poached to perfection, I’m impressed by the juicy chicken and beef satays. The classic peanut sauce weren’t too spicy probably to suit the palate of international hotel guests.
Also dishing lovely range of salad both western and local, this addition balances the meal with healthy and fresh range of salad leaves and ulam. There are 7 types of salad and appetisers on daily rotation; kerabu pucuk paku, kerabu jantung pisang, kerabu nangka, kerabu kacang botol, kerabu betik, kerabu daun selom and many more.
Of course teasing the taste bud with varieties of jeruk, as well as acar, and that good wholesome range of ulam-ulam kampung. But nothing beats the main. Satiate yourself on their varied poultry, seafood and vegetable dishes.
Lastly, the desserts certainly would be mind blowing since it offers a scrumptious spread of both traditional and fusion sweet cakes and kuih. I am always excited when it comes to the dessert bar. The range of sweetness is too tempting to resist it.
ABC station is one fun stop where you get to mix and make your own Lee chee kang and ice kacang with the great assortment of condiments available. Kids would love this and adults would enjoy.
