Si Chuan Dou Hua at PARKROYAL Kuala Lumpur welcomes the year of Monkey with a variety 2016 Chinese New Year set menu and Yee Sang creations. Starting 18th January to the 22nd of February, Chinese Chef Foong Koon Sang and his talented team is putting abundance of auspicious creations to feast. Swinging to a prosperous New Year, there is the beautiful and healthier option of Tropical Yee Sang or colourful Vegetarian Goose Yee Sang with selection offerings like jellyfish, abalone, Pacific clam and much more (RM 68 for half portion and RM 118 for full portion). Enhanced with fruity flavour of choices of Spicy Plum Sauce with Mango or the traditional Sour Plum as diners tossed their way to the best of their heart desire. Here we have the Prosperity Sliced Abalone Yee Sang.
Right after a good toss, diners get comforting choice of Double-boiled Shark’s Fin Soup with Dried Scallop, Sea Cucumber, Bamboo Piths and Ginseng or the Braised Eight Treassure Soup – made with spinach to yield the beautiful colour of jade. The first would meet the demand of traditional Chinese customs to where else the later allows the exact satisfaction even without the shark’s fin in it.
Chinese New Year staple must include complete feast of poultry and seafood. This is when the chef tuned and toned what’s initially their fiery and hot and spicy signature of Sze Chuan flavour, into Cantonese influenced line up of delicious traditional dishes. Indulging in dishes like the Steamed Village Chicken with Chinese Herb and Braised Vegetables with Sea Cucumber, Dried Scallop, Sliced Abalone and Dried Oyster alone isn’t enough.
From the sea, Si Chuan Dou Hua serves Stir-fried Large Prawn with Superior King Sauce and Steamed Tiger Garoupa with Superior Soya Sauce. The first already have their shells removed, making savoring it a lot more pleasant and the later gives plenty of nutritional value when it comes to collagen.
Complete the meal with rice- a staple when it comes to Chinese culinary, and here at the Park Royal, it is ridiculously delicious Fried Rice with Black Mushroom and Smoked Duck with the smoky fragrant people cannot get enough of it that’s for sure.
The sweet finishing is none other than the renowned Fried ‘Nian Gao’ with Yam-a traditional and consistently good dessert at the restaurant.
