Ring in Chinese New Year this February with Kip Hotel KL, the latest business class hotel situated along Jalan Seri Utara as they celebrate their first Chinese New Year festivities since opening its doors in October 2015 . In celebration of the year of monkey, auspicious beginnings to reward the love ones with an authentic feast of menu whipped up by Executive Chef Simon and his team of kitchen crew. Classic dishes to usher the Chinese New Year featured in both sets of available menu inevitably starts with Yee Sang. Kick off a prosperous new year by raising the chopsticks high as we tossed the Salmon and Sliced Abalone Yee Sang to boost good luck and prosperity.
Anticipating the Lunar New Year, Chef Simon crafted the cutest set menu, featuring a selection of two exquisite nine-course dinner menus. Commencing 16th January till 7th February 2016, each dish symbolises family reunion auspicious nest, and prosperity consist of treasures harvest from the barn and sea and served with the most adorable plating. Hot and cold combination showcased a platter of delicious starter and interestingly decorated with soft candy and edible commercial snacks.
The joy and happiness continues with our traditional Chinese New Year staple- Sharks Fin with Crab Meat Soup, the very fresh Kam Hiong Ming Prawn, sweet and tangy Deep Fried Boneless Chicken with Mandarin Orange Sauce. And of course, the Braised Mushroom with Dried Oysters and Broccoli – a compulsory in every Chinese New Year set menu.
My favourite of the night, Steamed Silver Cod Fillet Hong Kong Style. A clever execution to keep it simple and classy so the fresh fillet of COD instantly stands out to speak for itself.
The sweet finishing serves Snow Fungus and Red Dates in Syrup and Sesame Lotus Ball.
