Food trends don’t end under any circumstances and the recent salted egg yolk craze are now in Madame Waffle. From Asian dishes like custard buns to the western delights like croissants; and now waffle, the trend still currently ongoing and picking up fast. Salted egg yolk has really proven its capability to blend with any food and now it’s gotten to waffles but whether or not this hybrid is worthy of the calories? Here is what we are about to find out.
When I was told there is salted egg yolk waffle with salted egg yolk ice cream, I’m thinking no way. Then I found out its real, Madame Waffle launched their own rendition of the coveted sauce- one that simple goes well with everything and anything bizarre, is the latest addition to this renown waffle joint. Salted Egg Yolk Waffle here will soon launch many a gushing Instagram post not only with their pretty plating, but the hypnotising thick golden yellow custard that escorts. Salted egg yolk wasn’t intense but was prominently obvious to many and at the same time inconspicuous to salted egg yolk devotee.
And get ready for the fear factor challenge (or a dive into paradise if you are huge durian fan) when the Musang Durian Crème Brulee is served right before your eyes. Or, you can smell it as it is being prepared. You would find a generous lump of durian Brulee, so a thin crusty crystallised sugar layer would crack to have a medley texture of both creamy luscious and crackling crisp.
The spotlight must be their Matcha Signature . Hands down and hats off such consistency in the lovely texture – light but never too airy or dense in anyway. Tiramisu Waffle didn’t appeal to me, only because I am not a fan of tiramisu. But, know that they pull things off with waffles alone (Matcha and Cinnamon Classic Waffles) , satisfying bites without toppings are always a good choice
Let’s not forget the lovely flavour of those Ferrero Rocher Delight, every chocolate fan would approve this. Fruits topping balances the bitter sweet of chocolate and even though not as generous, the toppings blends beautifully both on the plate, and on the palate.
Beverage menu offers a medley of creativity with things like Passionfruit Mint Soda, Ice Matcha Blended,Lemonade Soda, and caffeine drinks. Once again, barista Feng was present so naturally coffee is a must.
