Laguna Redang Island Resort provides a fantastic beach vacation enlivened by pearly white sand, clear sea water and warm smile from their friendly staffs. Everyone would need a vacation with such killer view if not for those gastronomic offering. And honestly, food wouldn’t be the best reason to be here. In contrary, I was solemnly wishing for better food.
There are only 2 trips to and fro the jetty and the resort (9 am and 12 pm) daily, we took the later and we arrived being greeted with welcoming refreshments, before proceeding to satiate at the restaurant. Lunch (12.00noon – 2.30pm) serves decent range of Asian and European staple including rice, noodles, and pastas. There is a fair selection of beverages, as well as cakes, some sweet delights and freshly cut of assorted fruits.
Dinner (7.00pm – 9.30pm) was delightfully enjoyable with stews and carvery booths slicing away tendor slices of roasted meat. And accompanying those meats were some fresh green leaves, with few dressing options. It wasn’t killer gourmet experience. But with the breeze from the beach and the gentle rhythmic symphony from the sea at the semi open restaurant, it’ll be the loveliest experience if it weren’t for the constant disturbance from the swarm of mosquitoes as the stars gradually fill the cosmic view out there.
Scheduled in between the meals is snorkeling, where guests are guided with proper snorkeling gear and accompanied by their experienced staffs. The rest of the time is pretty much free and easy and be rest assure that time goes by too quickly when you are chilling at such beautiful beach.
Breakfast (7.00am – 9.30am) is usually the reason why I get out of bed. Especially when I know it is breakfast with a view, I happily got out of bed early.
The rooms are selling with different packages with price ranging accordingly to the views at the balcony. Now unless you’d be spending time chilling in the resort rooms, getting a room with a view is totally unnecessary. Why bother staying in the room when the sky is so blue and the sands are so white?
When booking for resort packages, take note that it includes your ferry rides. Also different jetties carry passengers to respective resorts so be sure to check the right jetty and it’s timing when planing your trip to Redang.
This 2 days 1 night package for 3 pax cost no more than RM 500 each, and it includes a room that could fit 4 adult, all 3 meals throughout the day, and your snorkeling activities, as well as some extra expenditure at the bar, some spending at the souvenir shop, and taxi rides to the jetty. The room was clean and comfortable although I’d wish for a larger shower room.
